The Ham Radio Field Directory is an independent, curated reference resource for licensed amateur radio operators — from newly-minted Technicians to veteran Extra-class operators who have been chasing DX since before the internet existed.
Our mission is simple: put every useful amateur radio resource in one well-organized, easy-to-search place. No clutter. No affiliate pressure. No ads disguised as editorial. Just accurate, honest, useful information.
Every listing in this directory was selected and written by hand. The descriptions are written by someone who has actually used these resources — not scraped from press releases or auto-generated from a database. When we say a resource is excellent, we mean it.
The directory covers ten categories of amateur radio resources:
This is not an official ARRL resource, nor is it affiliated with any of the organizations, retailers, or publishers listed. Listings are included because they are genuinely useful — not because anyone paid for placement. The directory is supported by Google AdSense advertising, which appears in clearly marked ad slots.
Alongside the directory, we publish practical guides on amateur radio topics — getting licensed, setting up digital modes, building antennas, operating portable, and navigating HOA restrictions. Every article is written to solve a specific, real problem that operators encounter. We aim for the kind of answer you'd get from an experienced Elmer at your local club.
The Antenna Length Calculator computes dipole, vertical, EFHW, and loop antenna dimensions from any frequency. The Printable Reference Card puts frequency bands, NATO phonetics, Q-codes, CTCSS tones, and RST scale on one laminate-ready page. Both are free, no account required.
Know of a resource that belongs in this directory? Use our Submit a Listing form. We review every submission manually and add listings that meet our quality standard. Submissions are free — there is no paid placement.
Amateur radio resources change — dealers close, URLs move, software gets updated. If you find an error, an outdated link, or a listing that needs correction, please contact us. We update listings promptly when notified of changes.
